How to Measure Your Ring Size

Measuring the Diameter of an Existing Ring:

1. Choose a ring that fits comfortably on the finger you want to size.

2. Place the ring on a flat surface and use a ruler or tape measure to measure the distance across its widest point (in millimetres).

3. Match the measurement with a sizing guide to determine the correct size. (bottom of the page)

Measuring the Circumference of Your Finger:

1. Wrap a piece of string or thin strip of paper around the finger you wish to size.

2. Mark the point where the string overlaps or meets its starting point.

3. Lay the string/paper strip flat and measure its length (in millimetres) using a ruler.

4. Compare the measurement to a sizing guide to find your ring size. (bottom of the page)

Tips for Accuracy:

  1. Measure More Than Once: It's a good idea to measure your finger two or three times to ensure consistency and accuracy.

  2. Measure at Different Times of Day: Fingers tend to swell and shrink slightly throughout the day, so it’s best to measure at the same time of day.

  3. Check Temperature: Cold weather can cause your fingers to shrink, while warm weather can make them expand. If you’re taking the measurement in extreme conditions, consider doing it in a comfortable room temperature.

  4. Check Fit: Ideally, you should be able to slide the ring over your knuckle without too much force, but it shouldn't be loose enough to fall off.

  5. Use a Known Ring for Comparison (Optional): If you have a ring that fits you well, you can compare its inner diameter to the length of your paper strip to double-check your measurement.
