Each piece of jewellery is made using the traditional sand casting technique. First, the design is hand-carved in wax, then pushed into fine sand to create a negative mould. Molten metal is poured into the negative mould, capturing every unique detail. This process results in a one-of-a-kind piece with natural textures and variations. The result is a beautifully crafted, handmade design with a natural, subtle raw finish that’s full of character.

The Art of Sand Casting

moltenglow-lucydavis

Molten Glow is designed and handmade by Lucy in her intimate studio on the picturesque island of Jersey, in the Channel Islands.

Inspired by nature and the beauty of pure metals, Molten Glow creates distinctive, wearable art focused on individuality over tradition. Each bespoke piece is crafted to reflect the unique style and spirit of its wearer.

At the heart of Molten Glow is the sand casting process, a technique that adds an organic, artisanal quality to each creation. Sand casting is not only a nod to ancient craftsmanship, but also a way to imbue every piece with character and one-of-a-kind texture. The process captures the raw, natural forms of metal as it flows into intricate moulds, resulting in jewellery that is as unique and individual as the materials themselves. This method ensures that no two pieces are ever the same - each one is a true work of art, shaped by the unpredictable beauty of molten metal and the artist's skilled touch.
